About Champlin

Champlin is located in northern Hennepin County on the west bank of the Mississippi River about 17 miles northwest of Minneapolis. The average elevation is 875 feet above sea level and the Mississippi River is approximately one-eighth of a mile wide. The City is approximately 8 square miles in size and has 22,492 residents. It is bounded by the Mississippi River on the east and north, Brooklyn Park and Maple Grove on the south, and Dayton and the Elm Creek Park on the west.
